Fair Share Trust
The Fair Share Trust was established in 2003 to administer a £50 million expendable endowment fund for the benefit of disadvantaged areas across the UK which had received less than their 'fair share' of Lottery funding. The general aims of the programme are to:
-
Increase Capacity and Sustainability – through the involvement of local communities.
-
Build Social Capital – by increasing links with and between communities.
-
Improve liveability – by developing the living environment.
The Fair Share Trust programme is designed to support specific local communities who may have missed out on Lottery funding in the past. The programme aims to increase capacity and sustainability, build social capital and improve liveability. These grant making bodies work with panels of local residents and other advisers to set local priorities. Grants of between £5,000 and £250,000 are available to a wide range of organisations, for projects that meet at least one of the local priorities.
Please note this programme has been running for over five years so varying amounts are still available in each neighbourhood.
