Set up your own Fund
You can have your own named charitable fund, delivering support to a cause or causes of your choice:
- Endowment fund (minimum £25,000) - where your money is invested to give long-term support to your chosen cause(s). Endowment funds are invested within our overall portfolio. The income plus any capital growth in line with our policy generated from the investment of the endowment is available annually to award in grants.
Fees: South Yorkshire Community Foundation charges an annual fee which covers investment management, grant making and administration:
- 1.5% up to £100,000, 1.25% up to £250,000, 1% over £250,000
We also retain any short-term interest on unspent balances.
- Distribution fund - where you give one-off support to specific good causes. Distribution funds allow you or your appointed committee to distribute your charitable gift to selected good causes throughout the course of the year, therefore providing a more immediate benefit during that period.
Fees: These named funds carry a 15% annual charge depending on the level of service required.- or a combination of both the above. Fees: These funds carry an annual charge for management of the endowment:
1.5% up to £100,000, 1.25% up to £250,000, 1% over £250,000
and 15% revenue, depending on the level of service required.
Remember, you can pay by instalments and add to your fund at any time.
- Acorn Fund - allow you to build up a charitable fund over a number of years. You make regular contributions and gain charitable tax benefits from those donations. The annual income from your Acorn Fund will be reinvested to grow the value of your fund until you reach £25,000 and your investment becomes a named charitable fund.
